"Honoring
the Mother"

Saturday, May 12, 2001 in
Quinn Coliseum on the campus Eastern Oregon University, in La Grande,
Oregon, the Native American Program and Speel-Ya Native Student Council
celebrated its 31st Annual Spring Celebration & Pow Wow.
Grand Entries were at 1:00
PM and 7:00 PM. Our special guests were treated to a Salmon dinner
at the Friendship Feast. The salmon was donated by the Confederated
Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Fisheries Program.
In addition to social and
competition dancing, the Pow Wow also offered Native arts and crafts
vendors, a donation raffle and an Indian Taco & Frybread Concession
Stand run by Speel-Ya.
The event is funded by EOU's
Incidental Fee Committee and organized by Speel-Ya Native Student Council
