29th Annual Pow Wow & Celebration

 

 

The 29th Annual Pow Wow & Celebration was held Saturday, May 8, 1999, on the campus of Eastern Oregon University.  Grand Entries were at 1:00 P.M. & 7:00 P.M.  Serving as Master of Ceremonies was John Beavis and as Host Drum was Howt Me Drum.  Other drums present were Many Nations, Coyote Creek, Umatilla Studs, Redtail, Spirit of the Renegade and Nicht-Yow-Way.

Other dignitaries included:  Paris Leighton (Male Head Dancer), Katie Blackwolf (Female Head Dancer), Lloyd Barkley & Judy Farrow (Floor Managers), Calvin Shillal (Whipman) and Alan Crawford (Whipman).

This annual event was organized by Speel-Ya Student Council and the Native American Program and funded by EOU's Incidental Fee Committee.
