Health Education Sites

Whether you are a student, teacher or anyone interested in researching health issues, it is important to choose sites which provide honest and ethical information. The first few sites below will help you understand how to evaluate health and medical websites. The other sites will provide links to sites which are considered dependable and accurate.


Evaluating Health and Medical Web Sites

Eighty agencies and organizations from twenty-five countries recently searched the World Wide Web on the occasion of the First International Health Claim Surf Day for data on six elements: arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDs and multiple sclerosis. The search turned up more than 1,200 sites which contained misleading or potentially false information! (Today's Chemist at Work, 8, No. 2,12 (1999)
