LEARN ON LINE

This is just a beginning point for online learning which can be done to enhance high school health careers classes.

MedicalStudent.com
MedicalStudent.com is a digital library of authoritative medical information designed to help all students of medicine. The goal of MedicalStudent.com is to provide a starting point for entry into medical places of enlightenment, entertainment and education on the Internet. MedicalStudent.com identifies authoritative medical World-Wide Web sites that can teach, illuminate, and inspire. It includes medical simulations, textbooks and a lot of graphical resources. Marla Cavallo, Baker High School, tries to make sure her health careers students see an autopsy - if you can't provide that kind of opportunity, there is a virtual autopsy site referenced in this material.

Human Anatomy On-line
Anatomy course online. Great way to begin to develop the vocabulary and comprehension needed for a health career. Fairly general, but a more comprehensive course is available for $19.95 (we have not assessed it).

Visible Human Project
Some students may enjoy these images - the section with further information on Images and Animations is probably the most interesting.

Online Medical Dictionary
Allows for searching of specific words or topic areas. Every descriptor word can also be accessed for a definition (if it is unfamiliar). It is continually being updated.
