Northeast Oregon AHEC’s Annual Mini Grant
Health Career Day Award Announcement
Recently we began our new fiscal year. We have $5,500 in Health Career Day grants available this year for Baker, Gilliam, Hood River, Malheur, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Wasco and Wheeler counties. Last year funding was awarded to Grant County Fairgrounds, South Gilliam Health Center, Windy River Elementary, Hood River Valley High School’s HOSA Club, The Family Place in Ontario, OSU Extension office in Sherman County, Imbler Charter School’s Mileage Club, North Central ESD, the Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon in Pendleton and Columbia Gorge Community College.
Learners of every age were affected by the funding. We participated in 4 of the above events and are interested in doing even more this year. As you consider the opportunity before you, think about how you can directly engage grade, high school or college level students in your activity. Educators and health care organizations can also benefit from the funding.
Applications for Health Career Day awards will be accepted quarterly. The next deadline is November 30th, awards will be issued mid-December. The next grant cycle will be in March and June. If funding is still available, we will have a fourth opportunity in August.
