Dr. Linda J. Jerofke, Professor of Anthropology, received degrees in anthropology from Appalachian State University (B.A.) and the University of Oregon (M.A. and Ph.D.). She has spent the last 20 years teaching anthropology and/or working as an applied anthropologist with Tribes and as an archaeologist. Her research interests are varied and include nutritional/medical anthropology, Native Peoples of North America and archaeology. She has received funding from the NW Health Foundation as well as the National Institute of Health to study childhood obesity in rural communities. Publications have focused on Native Peoples, nutritional anthropology and archaeology. She currently serves as the Coordinator of the Native American Studies minor and sits on a number of local boards (United Way of Eastern Oregon and the Northeast Oregon AHEC).
