Along with his teaching responsibilities Mr. Frasier is the Musical Director for the Grande Ronde Community Choir and is active throughout the northwest as a clinician, adjudicator, presenter and consultant. He spent thirty years a music teacher for the La Grande School District, where his choral program was recognized as being among the best in Oregon. Under his direction the La Grande High School A Cappella Choir received many awards, including 1st place at the 1993 University of Portland “Best in the Northwest” Choral Festival as well as being the 3A division champion at the 2001, 2002, and 2003 OSAA State Choir Championships. His Jazz Choir received awards at many regional Vocal Jazz Festivals, including 1st place at the 1983 Reno Jazz Festival. Choirs under his direction have performed concert tours to the British Isles and Central Europe as well as New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Vancouver, B.C. His directing credits include over thirty musical theatre productions at the high school, college and community theatre levels. As a performer he has appeared on stage in over thirty musicals, operas and operettas including Secret Garden, Music Man, Sweeney Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, The Bartered Bride, The Old Maid and the Thief, and HMS Pinafore.

From 2004-2006 Michael was President of the Northwest Division of ACDA http://www.nwacda.org/Leadership.htm currently serving as Past President’s Council Chair. He has been a presenter at numerous MENC and ACDA conferences and workshops including the 2005 Montana Music Educators Convention, the 2004 ACDA Northwestern Conference and the 2004 Oregon Music Educator's Conference Convention.

Professional honors include:

• 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award from Oregon Music Educators District VI
• 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award from Eastern Oregon Regional Arts Council
• 2003 Paul Harris Fellow for Community Service from the La Grande Rotary Club
• 2002 Union County Teacher of the Year
• 2002 Visiting teacher/lecturer in Ecuador working with teachers and students at
•   Colegio Americano De Quito
•   Conservatorio Nacional ?Jose Maria Rodriguez? de la ciudad de Cuenca and with adult conducting students.
• 2005, 1999 and 1993 Inspirational Teacher Award presented by Eastern Oregon University to selected High School Teachers
• 1983 Phi Delta Kappa Outstanding Teacher Award for Eastern Oregon
