Assistant Professor of Music, Music Director of The Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra, cello instructor.
Activities as composer have included participation in several international festivals held in Mexico such as the “Festival International Cervantino” and the Foro Internacional de Música Nueva.” In the US, participation in the Exhibition “Mexico a Work of Art 1990-91" organized by the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Mexico and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, San Antonio, Los Angeles. In Europe, participated in the International Festival of Choreography of Bagnolet (France), Misiónes Santa Fe (Spain), Gestes 85 (Brussels), and the Berchem International Festival. His works have been commissioned by the “Fonds Alex de Vries” and produced by the Royal University of Ghent and the Belgian Radio and Television Network (RUG-BRT), University of Utah, Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (Mexico), and the Instituto Nacional de las Bellas Artes (INBA), among others. Recipient of three Eastern Oregon University Faculty Scholars awards. Recording of his works can be found on the labels “Pro-disc” in the series “Clásicos Mexicanos” and Koch-Schwann-Aulos. Prizes include a grant from the FNCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes) to The Intellectuals and Creators of Mexico, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Chamber Music 2000, and the 2000/2001 ASCAP Foundation Raymond Hubbell scholarship. His works habe been performed by soloists such as Juan Carlos Laguna, Peter Lawson, Gerardo Ledesma, Miguel Angel Lejarza, Max Lifchitz, Kun Woo Paik and Manfred Stilz among others, and orchestras such as The Chamber Orchestra of the INBA (National Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico); The Carlos Chavez Symphony Orchestra; Orquesta Filarmonía; Independence Symphony (USA), and the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra. Commercial recordings by the The Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Mexico, and the Symphony Orchestra of Monterrey (OSUANL). Dr. Espinosa was a member of the Oxford Round Table during the Summer sessions of 2006,
presenting research work on the future of the Arts and the Sciences,
published by the Forum on Public Policy Online (Winter 2007 edition).
As conductor and performer: Music Director of the Grande Ronde Symphony Orchestra at Eastern Oregon University; former Music Director of the Musica Nova Ensemble at the University of Missouri-Kansas City; chamber orchestra of the Technol. Inst. of Superior Studies of Monterrey; chamber orchestra of the Superior School of Music and Dance Carmen Romano de Lopez Portillo of Monterrey and chamber orchestra of the University of Coahuila. Also former Assistant Conductor of the Independence Symphony and Peabody Camerata. Former Associate Professor of Cello at the Superior School of Music and Dance of Monterrey (Mexico) and former member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Mexico.
