Susan Denning has worked at Literary Arts since 2006. She’s the Director of Programs and Events, and is the program director for the Oregon Book Awards & Fellowships Program and manages event production for Portland Arts & Lectures. She produces the Oregon Book Awards Author Tour, which brings authors to communities across Oregon for workshops and readings.
Susan has a Masters in Writing from Portland State University, and her poetry has appeared in New York Quarterly, Shampoo, Filter and elsewhere. She is the author of She Preferred to Read the Knives, a chapbook from Dancing Girl Press. She edited the online poetry journal Caffeine Destiny for 13 years, and she is one of the editors of Alive At the Center, an anthology of Portland, Seattle and Vancouver B.C. poets, published by Ooligan Press.
Susan has taught writing at Marylhurst, Portland State, Washington State University and Clark College, and continues to teach online classes in the Portland area.
