Kevin Roy, Assistant Professor of Media Arts, Multimedia
Professor Roy arrived at EOU in 2005 from the University of Georgia after receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Digital Media. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree from the University
of Georgia in 1995. Professor Roy has extensive professional film production and web development experience. His films have exhibited internationally and nationally at various festivals and venues.
In 2001, he was presented with the Best Film/Film Industry Website Award at the South By Southwest Interactive Festival for his collaborative work with Dreamspan and the Short Attention Span Film Festival. Professor Roy continues to explore digital filmmaking and new media development.

Kerry Loewen , Assistant Professor of Media Arts, Art
Professor Loewen left the commercial film industry in 1998 to pursue an MFA in Studio Art at San Francisco State University. In 2005 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Art & Media Art at Eastern Oregon University. His video, installation and photographic works have been exhibited at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, Southern Exposure Gallery, Arts Benicia Gallery, Adobe Book Shop, the Slop Art Catalogue tour and other venues. In 2003 he received a commission from the San Francisco Arts Commission and has a video installation in the di Rosa Preserve collection in Napa, California.

Neil Gustafson, Associate Professor of Media Arts, Journalism
Professor Gustafson worked as reporter, editor, managing editor, executive editor, publisher, and owner of magazines and newspapers for nearly twenty years. In 1995, he left the publishing business to return to school. He supplemented his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, from Iowa State University, by obtaining his Ph.D. in American literature from the University of Hawaii in 1995. In 1999, Gustafson arrived at EOU where he teaches a variety of courses in journalism, media arts, and English. He also serves as adviser to the university student newspaper. His scholarly interests concern the work of journalists and fiction writers Willa Cather and Hamlin Garland. He has published articles on the two in refereed journals, including Western American Literature.
