1)   What is your career or educational goal?

My career goal is to become a journalist.

2)  Why have you chosen the LS major rather than a traditional major?

I want to meld two areas of study into one comprehensive program.  Having studied at a liberal arts college in Portland, OR, before transferring to EOU, I experienced the opportunity to study several topics in-depth simultaneously.

3)  How do your two disciplines “blend” together to meet your goals?

I intend to combine Media Arts-Journalism with History.  This may seem like an unlikely coupling, but I believe that the two can work well together.  I can use this combination for many jobs such as writing for a history journal, investigative reporting on activities of the past, or comparing contemporary politics with those of the past.

1)  What is your career or educational goal?

My career goal is to work in Human Resources in an upper level management position.  In order to be considered for a Director of Human Resources position I need to earn a Bachelor’s Degree.

2)  Why have you chosen the LS major rather than a traditional major?

Much of my previous education taken online has focused toward Health Studies.  But I have realized that I must include a business minor to be more well rounded and employable. I have realized that my experiences coupled with a degree can take me further in these economic times.

3)  How do your two disciplines “blend” together to meet your goals?

The two minors I am earning mix Health Studies and Business.  They blend nicely as I prepare to work in Human Resources.  The Health Studies minor allows me to develop insight into how to best work with employees of all personality types and backgrounds.  The Business minor aspect of my degree assists in developing a basic understanding of Business Law, Marketing, and Accounting.
