MathExcel is a supplemental program designed to help students excel in their current math class, and develop skills in problem-solving and in working effectively with others.
Most terms at EOU, students in Math 095, 111, and 251 have the option of signing up for a corresponding MathExcel section for free.
The actual 1-credit-hour MathExcel class meets twice per week, and is graded solely on attendance and participation. There are no tests, quizzes, or homework in MathExcel, yet students find it challenging and rewarding. An upper-division math students serves as the “Peer Leader” for the MathExcel class, and leads the students toward a deeper understanding of their course work.
