ChemExcel is a supplemental program designed to help students excel in their current chemistry class, and develop skills in problem-solving and in working effectively with others.
Students in Chem 101, 102, 103, and 204, have the option of signing up for a corresponding ChemExcel section for free.
The actual 1-credit-hour ChemExcel class meets twice per week, and is graded solely on attendance and participation. There are no tests, quizzes, or homework in ChemExcel, yet students find it challenging and rewarding. An upper-division chemistry student serves as the “Peer Leader” for ChemExcel, and leads the students in the class to a deeper understanding of their course work.
