KEOL-FM Previous Staff Listing
A Little List of Who used to be Who on KEOL-FM

In the interest of honoring those whose past work has benefitted the station, I present to you the list of our staff members who have since handed down the torch.  I've kept their bios intact from when they were working here for nostalgia's sake.

Station Manager Fall 2004 to Spring 2005- Dave McDermott

Birthplace: Andrews Air Force Base, MD 11/07/82
Major: English
Minor: Political Science

Hello again to one and all.  I am Dave, and those who listen to me on the air better know me as DJ Handsome-Fat.  I am a military brat, so I moved around quite a bit growing up, but Anchorage, Alaska is the place I have lived the longest and most recently, so it is the place I call home.  I think I might be the first station manager in the history of KEOL to be married!  When I came to Eastern four years ago I swore I wouldn't fall for a local girl; funny how things work out, but she did chase me down hardcore.
I have climbed the ranks of management here at KEOL, starting off as the News Director, then being promoted to Program Director, and now I am the head cheese.  If I didn't love KEOL, I wouldn't have wanted to be so involved.  Being a member of management, I have been able to make a difference (for the better I think) here at KEOL, and it has been an awesome learning experience.  Upon graduation, I hope to be lucky enough to score a job in radio or any other job in journalism.  Until then, I remain committed to the advancement of KEOL and its staff.

Station Manager from Fall 2003 to June 2004 - Matthew Hurd

I am a senior Business major with an emphasis on Marketing. But I enjoy working on my minor more, which is music. It just comes much more naturally to me. That’s because I’m musically inclined and have had an appreciation for music since I has young. I like many types of music, but I prefer to play either Ska, Punk, Hard Rock, or Metal during the radio show I share with my fiancé.

Like many Scorpios, I am intense, passionate, emotional, and energetic; and I have been told that I have a magnetic personality. On the flipside, I tend to be compulsive and a little cocky. Its not that I’m arrogant, I just think my time is more important. JK

My interests, not particularly in order, include: music (listening and playing), being lazy, video games, sleeping past lunch, art, marshal arts, musical theater, other types of theater, laughing at stereotypically over masculine jocks, and long walks preferably on the beach with my special someone. Sorry to disappoint you yet again, but this man candy has been claimed.

Currently I live in the basement of my parent’s house, but I’ve got much bigger plans. I want to own my own business in a musically related field. KEOL has actually helped me gain experience that actually might help me get a job I can enjoy! Which is more than I can say for statistics. This has been a great year, and an awesome learning experience. I would like to thank all those who gave me this post.

I hope you enjoy your experience at KEOL as much as I have. With all these budget cuts, and an environment in which taxpayers refuse to give students a healthy learning environment, I hope that KEOL will continue to make waves in the future. Keep listening. Especially to Evil Steve and Cassandra.

WebPanda from Fall 2004 to Spring 2005 - Panda Johnson

I've been a very, very lazy person, and just now decided to update the webpage to reflect that it is not, in fact, Summer of 2004.  Heck, it's not even 2004 at all anymore.  Yikes.

Anyway, hi.  I run this website now that Adam foolishly left it in my semi-capable paws, so here goes nothing.

Here's to hoping that I actually do a show in Winter Term 2005, eh?  Eh?!  I miss being on the air.  *cries*

Webslinger (KEOL Webmaster from Fall 2002 to June 2004) - Adam Rose

Yo. When I took over, I completely remade the site. I may not be in a management role let alone worthy of being on this page, but darn it, I can code HTML and make pretty graphics. That makes me useful! I feel sorry for the person who takes over after me, he/she'll have quite the time learning how things are done. Now, where did I put that "HTML for Dummies" book?
