WordPress is the new Content Management System (CMS) that EOU is using for all departmental and faculty pages. It will allow the EOU faculty and staff a better resource in publishing all EOU information and data to our users. Please view the training manual and the videos below for additional training on how to use this software.

WordPress Q & A
Q: What is WordPress?
A: WordPress is a website management tool, somewhat similar to the previous software EOU used, Adobe Contribute/Dreamweaver. One of the most noticeable differences between WordPress and Contribute/Dreamweaver is that each WordPress site can now be managed via any web browser, from anywhere in the world. WordPress is free for all EOU users where Adobe Contribute/Dreamweaver had to be purchased for a fee to use. Overall, we hope WordPress will be a simpler and more robust platform to manage your website needs for years to come.
Q: Do I have to migrate to WordPress?
A: Yes. Over the next few months, all department or unit sites and content will be migrated to WordPress.
Q: Are the classes required?
A: No, but the in-person training courses are recommended. Additional or one-on-one training will not be provided at a later date. If you are familiar with WordPress simply fill out the form linked to above and skip the training classes. The courses will outline the basics of WordPress, including widgets, menus, pages, and media libraries. Also, hands-on lab time is included.
This is not a series. You only need to attend one WordPress 101 session or view the videos above to get familiar with WordPress.
Q: What’s next?
A: Fill out the Google form at: http://www.eou.edu/it/wordpress-opt-in/ and start working on your new WordPress site! It’s that easy.
