Transfers

There are two types of call transfers available on most phones:

1. Attended Transfer

Call the target (the person to whom you are transferring the call) and either:

  • Transfer the call while the phone is ringing
  • Wait for the person to answer before transferring

To do a warm transfer:

  1. During an active call, press the transfer button. Depending upon your phone model, this may be a physical button on the phone’s body or a contextual button (sometimes called xfer) that appears on the phone screen during the call.
  2. Either dial the number to which you want to transfer the call or choose your directory and navigate to the desired contact.
  3. Press Dial or Ok (depending on your phone model). The phone will begin ringing.
  4. Whenever you want to transfer the call, press the transfer button again–either while the phone is ringing or after you’ve spoken to the transferee.
If you hang up the phone before the call in step #4 rings, the transfer will fail and the call will be disconnected.

2. Blind Transfer

Transfer without speaking to the target (the person to whom you are transferring the call).

To do a blind transfer:

  1. During an active call, press the blind transfer (sometimes called bXfer or Blind) button. Depending upon your phone model, this may be a physical button on the phone’s body or a contextual button that appears on the phone screen during the call.
  2. Either dial the number to which you want to transfer the call or choose your directory and navigate to the desired contact.
  3. Press Dial or Ok. The call is then transferred.

How do I transfer calls directly to voicemail?

  1. While caller is on the line, press “Transfer”.
  2. Dial “0″ and then 5 digit number.
  3. Press “Transfer” once again to complete the call transfer and caller will be sent directly to voicemail.
