EOU Internet/Networks
The EOU Network consists of both wired and wireless technology. With ever changing technology needs for the campus, the Infrastructure Unit is constantly working to make better access for our students, staff and faculty.
EOU Wireless Network
To connect to the EOU Wireless with your wireless device, simply scan for a network called “EOU” and connect to it. There is no authentication for this network. This is also a limited network where staff and faculty will not be able to access EOU Servers unless it’s already located in the “Internet Cloud”.
The Infrastructure Unit is now planning a new wireless deployment plan across campus to widen the coverage and include EOU Servers (with user authentication) and other EOU network services. Keep checking back on this page for more developments!
EOU Wired Networks
EOU wired networks include all faculty and staff computers, lab computers and anything that is connected by a ethernet cable into a data jack on the EOU Campus. Any computer connected to the EOU wired network is required to have current anti-virus and prior authorization from the EOU IT Department.
Data security is a top priority for the Infrastructure Unit within the IT Department and we monitor these networks closely. Any un-authorized user detected will have their port shut off and the connection will go dead.
EOU Dial-up Connections
This service is provided as a convenience for:
- Current students
- EOU graduates
- Current employees
- EOU retirees
Note: You should only use the dial-up if you are off-campus, and do not already have a reliable broad-band connection available. We strongly suggest that you subscribe to a broad-band ISP in your area since the dial-up is very slow, and can be unreliable.
In order to complete these instructions, you will need the following:
- A working modem
- A working phone line
- Your EOU Mountie Pass Credentials (EOU email account username and password)
- 15-20 minutes
Basic Instructions
If you are already familiar with setting up a dial-up connection on your system, you can use these settings:
- Phone Number: 541-962-3140
- Username: Your EOU Mountie-Pass username (the part of your EOU email address before the @ symbol)
- Password: Your EOU Mountie-Pass password (the password you use for your EOU email account)
