Policies, Standards and Guidelines

Information resource management in the 21st century is a complex job in higher education. The policies, standards and guidelines needed are numerous, yet clarity and brevity are essential for practical education and implementation among constituents. Eastern Oregon University (EOU) encourages the sharing of information as well as comprehensive access to local and national facilities to create and distribute information. General access facilities and infrastructure, owned and operated by the institution ,are provided to further these purposes.

EOU has a responsibility to protect information entrusted to the organization, to ensure the effective operation of business critical processes and to abide by policies established by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. EOU must also abide by laws and regulations at the local, state and federal level. The following Security, Operational and Legal subdivisions delineate the appropriate articles of compliance. Note: This is a work in process. Policies, standards and guidelines are added as necessary.
