Equipment

The equipment located in BH146 is as follows:

  •  Epson Power lite 8300i projector (double A batteries for remote)
  • Dell 620 computer (IT equipment not AV)
  • JVC DVD/VHS combo player (triple A batteries for remote)
  • Gyro wireless keyboard and mouse (triple A batteries for keyboard)
  • 25 foot VGA cable for laptop connection
  • Elmo brand overhead projector (ENX5 Bulb)
  • 12 foot screen (mounted front of the room)
  • Shure SCM262 stereo mixer
  • Extron RGB 203xi video switcher
  • TOA Amplifier
  • QSC Amplifier CX25
  • 4 Klipsch speakers (wall mounted)
  • 5 JBL speakers (ceiling mounted)

 

Key access to AV cabinet

To access this cabinet users will need a B key which can only be checked out from the AV department, not plant. Upon leaving EOU anybody who has a key checked out to them must return the key or face a $15 charge per key checked out.

Cheat Sheet for BH146 system

  •  To turn on Projector hit top right power button on the Epson brand remote
  • To lower and raise screen press the white button located left of the chalkboard

To view a VHS Tape

  •  Insert tape into the VHS side of the VHS/DVD combo unit
  • Select VCR on the VHS/DVD remote (depending on the tape inserted it may automatically switch to VCR)
  • Press the “Video” button on the projector remote
  • To adjust sound use stereo mixer in desk cabinet, use “DVD/VCR” knob as well as “master” knob
  • Use JVC remote to control (remember to point at cabinet not projector)

To view a DVD disc

  •  Insert disc into the DVD side of the VHS/DVD combo unit
  • Select DVD on the VHS/DVD remote (depending on the tape inserted it may automatically switch to DVD)
  • Press the “Video” button on the Epson remote
  • To adjust sound use stereo mixer in desk cabinet, use “DVD/VCR” knob as well as “master” knob
  • Use JVC remote to control (remember to point at cabinet not projector)

To view computer display

  •  Turn on the computer, if on, strike any key to exit sleep mode
  • Press the power button on the projector remote. Press the “1″ button to make sure projector is set to “Computer 1″ input.
  • Use silver knob on Extron switch (located in the desk cabinet, above the DVD/VCR player) to switch Input to 1, a green LED should be lit next 1 this will connect computer to projector
  • To adjust sound use stereo mixer in desk cabinet, use “Computer” knob as well as “master” knob
  • The Viewsonic monitor located on the desk, mirrors what is on the projection screen

 To view a notebook device

  •  Attach RGB cable that is located on the podium.
  • Press the power button on the projector remote. Press the “1″ button to make sure projector is set to “Computer 1″ input.
  • Use silver knob on Extron switch (located in the desk cabinet, above the DVD/VCR player) to switch Input to 2, a green LED should be lit next 2 this will connect laptop to projector
  • The Viewsonic monitor located on the desk, mirrors what is on the projection screen
  • Laptop user should be familiar with own display functions for each notebook

Miscellaneous

  •  The projector remotes are very directional – point them directly at the projector
  • Please turn off Projector off after use (right red button on projector remote twice)
  • The Gyro Mouse must stay in the charging bay when not in use
  • Turn off Sony A/V Control Center afterward

Batteries die…computers lock up…things happen…be prepared with a back up plan

Please keep the volume at reasonable levels respect your neighbors
