It was decided that
HNRS meetings would be held on alternating fourth Tuesdays and Wednesdays at
8:00 am monthly. The next meeting will be in September, but may be off schedule,
as the date will depend on what date Lasa is available to do our required
annual MAC claiming.

Michelle reported that
Union has had asthma training from the OLA and that all inservices are done,
she is working on CPR, epi, first aid and glucagon training. Tim reported that
the Imbler inservices are done and Elgin will be trained over the next 2 days.
Sue reported that NP is done with their inservices. Good job everyone!
5.
We discussed goals and
plans for the 04-05 school year. We will again provide flu shot clinics and
Vicki was asked to order about 25 shots per school. We would like to do the
cholesterol and diabetes screening in February (using GRH). Vicki will organize
these again this year. We will collect BMI data again this year. Lee said that
it would be very easy to put this calculation into our data base, so that BMI
would be calculated automatically when height and weight are entered. Vicki
will get the BMI calculation to Lee and will talk with Nancy about what goals
she had envisioned for BMI, obesity health education in the schools.
6.
Supplies and equipment
needed for schools include scales and height measuring devices for all schools
excepts North Powder. Vicki will order these. Karen asked about getting some
new and updated curriculum. She will ask the schools about this, if they are
not able to help with this, Karen will follow up with Vicki.
7.
Vicki asked that all
staff be sure and communicate well with their schools about their schedules and
any changes that might be necessary. Be sure and check in at the school when
you arrive, so everyone knows you are there. Thanks!
8.
MAC will have some
changes this year. It will be computer/web based. Lasa will provide our
training sometime during the last 2 weeks of September. Vicki will get it
scheduled and let everyone know.
9.
Michelle passed out a
flyer concerning an upcoming brain injury workshop.
10. Karen has accepted a job in the Baker School District
and will not be able to keep the Elgin High School hours. We will be hiring a
new counselor for 12 hours per week for Cove (8 hours/week) and Elgin HS (4
