Decision Items:

1.   EXS322 - Request for new course (lab for an existing course).  Zero credits for lab.

     Approved 10-25-05

2.  CS 310 History of Computing – UWR approval only.

     Approved 10-25-05

Discussion items:

Integrated Studies Program (ISP)  Pilot course for gen ed request -  presented by Rob Davis.

A long discussion ensued about the process for general education approval. 

Colleen  stated that all  faculty need to complete the forms available on the EPCC website, list the outcomes for gen ed, create a syllabi, and put forward a formal request to EPCC.  That form must go through the regular process as outlined in the EPCC handbook:  program, division, school, EPCC, and Assembly.

Colleen will visit with Kathleen Dahl and other Division Chairs if necessary to determine what their understanding of the process for requesting gen ed for a pilot course.  The committee thought it had been pretty clear.

In conclusion:

ISP faculty and Director Davis will complete required general education approval paperwork for appropriate ISP courses. Only usual EPCC procedures will be used, beginning at Division level of CAS.

Chair Johnson will consult with members of CAS DAC about the process and members of the committee will consult with CAS as needed to consider how to work in mutual satisfaction with EPCC.
