Attendance:

Mary Koza                                  Marla Johnson                            Ruth Davenport

Colleen Johnson                           Rob Davis                                  Richard Croft

Nancy Knowles                           Dea Hoffman

Decision Items:

1.  APEL 390 – Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning  - Not approved.

Needs more clarification.  Tie to more disciplinary writing, and available to al students not just those who strive harder.  Mary Koza

will take back and see if they want to pursue it or not. Joanne parsons prepared syllabus before leaving DDE, and is now retired.

Perhaps Kim Sorensen may want to revisit it.

2.  ENG/WR 403 – (Retroactive to W05 term)   Senior Project.  A capstone.  Has always met UWR.

3.  WR 331 – Advanced News Writing.

Neil changed it to meet the outcomes.  On syllabus it says Writing Intensive, needs changed to UWR.  Needs C- language in

evaluation section, and the “attendance” section as well.  Nancy will request that Neil make the modifications then a revision

will be forwarded to Kris for records.

Discussion items:

  1. Discipline Credit Limit:  BA & BS should be the same and not the 75/90 difference in credits that exists now.

Nancy will draft something reflecting our discussion.

      2.  Several of the handbook revisions John made are “constitutional” changes which will need further approval – Assembly.

      3.  24 hour module.  Vo-tech policy.

An additional 24 may be brought in if applicable. What is and is not appropriate at four year universities.  We are allowing

45+ depending on how it applies to EOU. Other OUS (except OIT) accept 24.  Fire Science and ECE is different and has

switched to regular numbering hospitality/tourism may be one that is coming.

Advisors are consulted to see, upon their review, if certain credits deem appropriate. Need consistency throughout EOU.

         EPCC needs to discuss.
