Prerequisites: ENGL 206 or 207, one British orAmerican survey course, and upper-division standing.

Catalog description: Detailed study of one or moremajor writers or directors including critical analyses of selected majorworks.

1. Read Charles Dickens's work critically,

2. Situate his writing in its historical, biographical,and critical context, and

3. Employ effective writing strategies for discovery anddemonstrating learning.
