Decision Items:

1.   PSYCH   201L/202L – Request to add labs to Psych 201/202 lecture courses.    Dea said  that if the faculty would like a

footnote added under each lecture course so that the students know they need to register for a lab as well, then it should be

indicated on the schedule that the faculty submit to the Registrar's Office.  Approved   11/30/04

Informational item by Marie Balaban:   In the future, when curricular grants are processed, the Dean/Provost needs to remind faculty that consideration needs to be made whether the grant has EPCC implications and requires the committee's approval.

2.   University Writing Requirement course approvals:

Note:   All “provisional approved” courses will also be submitted to Assembly and announced that the syllabi must be revised by

December 17, 2004 or the course will not be placed in the catalog as UWR.   Nancy will monitor and review modified syllabi.

These courses will be processed through Assembly as “informational items” similar to gen ed approved items.

MUD Program :  Committee discussed whether we want "programs" being approved as a UWR.  Programs change through the years, and there will need to be a lot of housekeeping done to monitor changes in courses, syllabi, etc.  Tracking will be more difficult because other courses can be satisfied/supplemented in.  There are options to meet both UD & LD requirements that may cause consistency problems.  Committee is concerned about unified syllabi in general.

Specific to the MUD program, either or both ED 480 or ED 499 could be approved as stand alone UWR courses.  The committee will revisit this in January, and request that ED 480 and ED 499 be brought back with cover sheet for UWR approval.

Discussion items:

PEH program will come back to EPCC in January for further review.   (per Dan Mielke)

Kris will look through past records to gather additional history/information on the X10 policy, or at least a directive by administration and EPCC to clean up X10's. (1998 era)?

Colleen will present the EPCC Policy Statements regarding “double-dipping” and “residency requirements” at the December Assembly.
