Welcome to the Master of Arts in Teaching webpage! The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is a 13 month, graduate teacher preparation program leading to Oregon initial licensure in education, and a Master’s degree.

The Master of Arts in Teaching program is designed for students who have obtained their Bachelor’s degree and wish to become licensed to teach at either the elementary or secondary level.

EOU’s MAT program is all about learning through experience and from each other. This is a close knit program and you get to know everyone really well.” Sarah S.

I appreciate that Eastern’s MAT program allows for me to be a parent as well as a master’s student. The time in a public classroom exceeds many other programs. The staff at EOU is exceptional. I couldn’t ask for better models to guide my education and career.” Brenna H.

The EOU Education Job Fair was a great experience overall and I am glad to have been a part of it. I learned a lot abut the kinds of questions that will be asked in an interview and what kinds of information we need to know in order to be prepared. I was very grateful for the assistance on my resume. Thank you!!“ EOU Education Student
