Journal of Education Research and Instruction (JERI)

The Journal of Education Research and Instruction is a refereed publication of Eastern Oregon University’s School of Education and Business. JERI publishes research of current concern to scholars and professionals in the education field, practicing and pre-service teachers, and school administrators.

 

Mission

The mission of the Journal of Education Research and Instruction is to provide a publishing

opportunity for high-quality graduate and undergraduate research that informs teaching and learning, investigates issues in teaching practice, and advances quality curriculum planning.

 

Scope

The Journal of Education Research and Instruction publishes research and exemplary work samples from six areas:

  • Curriculum for Undergraduate Elementary School Teacher Education (CUESTE)
  • Multi-disciplinary Studies (MUD)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECED)
  • Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)
  • Master of Science (MS), and
  • Faculty research

 

Editorial Board

The Editorial Board consists of faculty and students in the College of Education, serving on rotating terms:

Frequency of Publication

The Journal of Education Research and Instruction is published annually, following the cycle of research and work sample submissions in the academic school year.

 

Submission Guidelines

Each program has protocol and process for constructing and writing final research projects. All submissions will adher to those guidelines. The Journal of Education Research and Instruction uses the APA 6th edition format. If the manuscript contains samples of student work, charts, graphs, diagrams, photographs or other visuals, please include the original scans upon submission. Parental permission must be secured for all works including student artifacts or photographs and video of students in the classroom. Submissions will include a cover sheet or document with the author’s name, mailing address, preferred telephone number, email address, and a convenient fax number. The name of the author should not be included on the manuscript or project. Decisions will be made by the end of June of each publication year. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.
