Graduate Literacy Program
Eastern Oregon University offers a TSPC approved graduate reading course of study. If you hold an Initial or Continuing license, you must complete the coursework (including a practicum) and pass the PRAXIS Reading Specialist exam in order to add the reading endorsement to your license. If you have a Basic or Standard License, please consult with an advisor.
Course work in the endorsement program may be applied to a Master’s of Science degree in Education.
All courses of the graduate literacy program are offered online through “Blackboard,” an internet “classroom.” You can complete the EOU graduate literacy program wherever you are located. Course Offerings
EOU also participates in ReadOregon (formerly CREADE). All the courses in EOU's graduate literacy program count toward the ReadOregon program. In addition, EOU offers several classes with READ prefixes that are part of the ReadOregon program. To learn more about ReadOregon you can go to www.readoregon.org.
Whether you decide to pursue the endorsement through EOU ’s course of study or that of ReadOregon, you should fill out the ReadOregon application form. This gives you access to up-to-date information about course offerings and makes you eligible for tuition assistance, if any is available.
