To help you understand EOU’s registration procedures, and technology, we offer the following information:
Student Introduction to Technology Resources
Webster
At EOU registration is handled through Webster. Webster is an online account that will contain your student information, both academic and financial. You can access your academic records (transcripts) by logging into your Webster account. If you are not seeking a degree from Eastern and would like to attend classes, you may print out the new student mail-in form or you may submit the web form. You will receive an email indicating when your form has been processed. You may then login to your Webster account. If you have problems, or questions, concerning Webster, please contact the Registrar’s office.
After logging in to Webster, you will need to register for classes. Once you have a Webster account, the process is generally straightforward. The most frequent mistake is entering an incorrect CRN number when registering. Please be sure to check all CRN’s before completing registration.
To locate the CRN for each class, you must complete the following steps:
1. Go to: Banner / Webster website
2. Select the appropriate term.
3. Click on “Subject” from the header, and select “Education”, for ED prefix courses or “Education Courses in Literacy”, for READ prefix courses
4. Under “Course Number “, type in the appropriate course number
5. Click on the “Class Search” button.
At this time, EOU does not allow students with addresses outside the 50 US states to register for courses.
Once you are registered for classes, you will be assigned a student e-mail from EOU. This is the e-mail that the University and your instructors will use to contact you. Your username and password will be posted on your Webster account. This can take up to 48 hours after registration so keep checking back. For other e-mail questions or concerns, please see the Information Technology Help Desk . All the classes for the reading endorsement rely heavily on e-mail for communication. EOU e-mail is also where all information will be sent. This is the e-mail you should use to contact your instructors prior to the start of the term.
Blackboard
Blackboard — All the reading endorsement courses use Blackboard as a distance “classroom.” You will receive an e-mail to your EOU e-mail informing you when you will be able to login and participate. Blackboard is quite intuitive to use, but if it is your first time using blackboard, instructions are available. It is also good idea to go to the Blackboard course when it becomes available and, “poke about” to see all the resources and course expectations.
Syllabi
A tentative course syllabus for all courses is available online and can be downloaded prior to the start of the term. Course syllabi are available online in Class Schedule . Simply locate your course (using the search feature), then print your syllabus. Read the syllabus thoroughly and direct any course questions to your instructor. Please download your syllabus and contact your instructor prior to the start of the term. Remember that the official syllabus with all course requirements will be posted in the online course. EOU does not contact students nor send out syllabi prior to the start of the term.
Textbooks
All textbooks are available at the EOU Bookstore online or on-campus. Please give yourself ample time, before starting the course, to order textbooks and to allow for transit time.
