Military Credit Evaluation Procedure
Eastern Oregon University
Step I: Admission to Eastern Oregon University
A. EOU Admission Application
B. Official College Transcripts
C. EOU Military Credit Transfer Request Form-(For students with military credits listed on a previous college transcript.) Indicate which of two choices:
a. Transfer "as is" into EOU. (All credits, including military topic credits, will be evaluated as possible transfer credits to (EOU.)
b. Transfer only those credits meeting EOU general education or elective requirements and reserve the military topic credits for transcription later.
Step II: Student obtains appropriate military training "source documents."
Military Source Documents
Acceptable military source documents that verify military training and MOS ratings as noted in the ACE Guide:
1. AARTS, SMART and Community College of the Air Force transcripts.
2. DD-214
3. MOS Order
4. Military Promotion Order
5. Training Completion Certificate
Step III: Student advising and Degree Planning Workshop
(At the advising sessions and the workshop, adviser will work with the student to select the military credits from the student's source document(s) that will be most beneficial to them for transcription. adviser and student then work to complete necessary military evaluation paperwork.)-See Military Training Credit Evaluation Summary.
Step IV: Eastern Oregon University evaluation of prior military training. (The Registrar processes the requested military evaluation. Credits are transcripted on EOU Transfer Evaluation transcript. Adviser should contact the Registrar once 35 EOU credits have been obtained so military credits can be added to the total credit count on the official transcript.)
Additional Military Credit
Options:
- New military training credit evaluation
(A request for additional credits can be submitted as new military training is completed as long as the student does not already have 45 credits generated through military credits and/or other ASL.)
- APEL-Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning (Up to 46 credits). An option for students who, for whatever reason, cannot document a military ranking/training through a source document.)
