Introduction to Eastern Oregon University
Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is located in La Grande, Oregon, near the southeast gateway of the majestic Grande Ronde Valley, on the edge of the Blue Mountains facing east to the Wallowas and the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Founded in 1929, EOU's deep service commitment to its beautiful region has expanded as the university's degree programs have extended nationwide through distance education.
This Orientation is a virtual "trek" that will acquaint you with EOU's academic offerings and rules. It will then explain EOU's distance education program and provide pathways into the EOU experience.
EOU's Division of Distance Education (DDE) has offered a variety of accredited degree programs that enable you to learn anytime, anywhere in the fifty United States and Canada (excluding territories and possessions of the United States). Existing logistics prevent DDE from serving students who relocate either temporarily or permanently outside of these areas. DDE will allow enrollment of military personnel if they have regular access to the Internet and receive mail at an APO address.
To determine whether distance education is a good fit for you, you may wish to take this self-assessment evaluation.
