Instructional Technology Quick Tips--Using Clipart: One of the easiest ways to ease into using multimedia is to insert clipart and other simple images into your web pages and attach or insert clipart into your email messages. Here are two web addresses that lead to collections of copyright-free clipart and images--Clipart and AAAClipart. Gif and jpeg files are the two most common types of image files that are viewable on the web. Most web browsers can view gif/jpeg files; if you put them into your web courses, students should be able to see them without problems. Within Blackboard it is easy to add images to your course pages. Follow these directions to download images that you locate on the web to your own computer: Windows--right click on the image and choose Save As, notice where you are saving the image so that you'll be able to find it (e.g., put in My Documents); Mac--hold down the mouse and choose Save As, notice where you are saving the image (e.g., to the Desktop or to a new Graphics folder). Try following these directions to download the jpeg image used on this page in the upper right corner. (To read additional Tech Tips go to the Quick Tips Archive.) |
