Theatre in the Ronde
Community Concert Series
Studio lessons are available in a wide range of musical areas. These are weekly private lessons that give the student one on one instruction in their chosen study area. Students are required to spend at least 3 hours per week in practice in addition to their weekly lesson. Qualified EOU Undergraduate Students, Community Members and EOU Faculty teach these private lessons. Studio lessons are open to students of all skill levels. Instruments are not provided. 10 lessons per quarter.Course Cost $150.00 per quarter
Students may have material costs in addition to course fees.

Weekly classes in voice and guitar are offered. These hour-long classes are designed for beginning and intermediate students of all age groups.All students must pay a $20.00 registration fee. All groups classes are available Fall, Winter and Spring quarters only.
Voice Class Ages 12 and over (except with permission) Students meet in a group setting to learn the basic skills of voice production and vocal techniques. Students also learn about presentation, posture and proper breathing techniques. Cost $75.00 per quarter
Guitar Class Ages 6 and over
Students meet in a group setting to learn the basic and intermediate skills for playing the guitar. Students must provide their own instrument. Additional materials costs may be required. Cost $75.00 per quarter
Violin Class Ages 8 and over
This is a beginning class that teaches violin through group instruction and classroom participation. Students will learn the basic skills needed to play the violin including reading music, fingering and bowing techniques. Additional materials costs may be required. Cost $75.00 per quarter
In this program children ages 3-6 will be introduced to basic musical concepts of rhythm, pitch, and sound. This will take place in a fun and exciting learning environment that promotes involvement and inclusion. Children will be taught a variety of entry level musical skills that will help them begin to experience and create music at a young age. Classes will be limited to 12 children and requires parent involvement in play and exercises. There will be 10 weekly classes. Additional material costs may apply. All students must pay a $20.00 registration fee. Available Fall, Winter and Spring quarters only. Cost $50.00 per quarter
Suzuki Strings lessons are available for ages 5 and older through a combination of private instruction and group classes. Janel Skinner, a community member certified in teaching the Suzuki method, and selected Eastern Oregon University music students, will teach lessons. Each student will receive one 1/2-hour private lesson each week and one 45-minute class lesson every other week. There will be a parent training and participation class once each quarter. Violins are not provided but may be purchased or rented locally. Additional material costs may apply. All students must pay a $20.00 registration fee. Available Fall, Winter and Spring quarters only
Cost $220.00 per quarter
Music Theory Ages 13 and older Music Theory explores the basic principles underlying music emphasizing understanding music and its notation through analysis of rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic elements of music. Students taking studio lessons may take this class without course fee. Additional material costs may apply. All students must pay a $20.00 registration fee. Available Fall, Winter and Spring quarters only.

Music Basics Ages 8 to 12
This course introduces children to the basics of written music and musical concepts. Students taking studio lessons may take this class without course fee. Additional material costs may apply. All students must pay a $20.00 registration fee. Available Fall, Winter and Spring quarters only.

Music Appreciation for Adults
