COMPUTER LABS - Manual

Time-off Requests

There are several situations that could require a student to need coverage for their shift or shifts.  The following guidelines should be followed when requesting time-off.  Refer to the situation that best describes your needs and follow those guidelines.

Personal Leave (Vacation, Sports, Study-time)

These types of activities are usually known in advance.  So when requesting time off for this type of personal leave please allow at least 48 hours notice to cover your shift!  You should make the shift request through cc-students referring to the date, time and lab that you need coverage for.  When you want to cover a shift respond to cc-students so that other lab aids know who was the first to respond, first person to respond receives the hours.  Also respond so the computing center is aware of who will be covering the shift.

Changing Permanent Schedule:

Send an email directly to James notifying him of what hours need to be changed.

Sick or Emergency Leave

As we are all aware there are times when an emergency arises and 48 hours notice is not available.  In these situations please call the Computing Center x23582 and notify us that the lab will be unattended due to your personal emergency situation or sickness.  If time allows please send a quick email to cc-student’s notifying other lab aids of the situation or sickness.

If you are unable to leave the message, let someone in the IT Department know so they can put out an emergency request for coverage.

  • YOU WILL NOT BE COMPENSATED FINANCIALLY FOR THESE SITUATIONS!

The only way to make up the missed hours would be to cover when someone else needs coverage!
