Commencement Activities will be posted during Spring term

Commencement is scheduled for Saturday – June 14, 2014 at 10:00am

Commencement should not be confused with “graduation.” Graduation refers to the actual fulfillment of degree requirements resulting in the conferral of a degree and a diploma. Commencement is a ceremony. It is a time for you to celebrate your accomplishments along with your family, your friends, and the EOU community.

Commencement Participation List – will be posted beginning March 2014

If you are a graduating senior and plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremony please complete the participation card below:

                       PARTICIPATION CARD
                        DEADLINE MAY 9TH

You may participate in Commencement if you are graduating fall 2013, winter 2014, spring 2014, or summer 2014. Commencement check in on Saturday morning begins at 8 am in Quinn.  Please enter from the east side of the building by the tennis courts.

Rehearsal for the Commencement Ceremony is scheduled on Friday – June 13 at 8:30 am.  Please meet in the large gym in Quinn Coliseum.  Participation is not mandatory, but it is very helpful to understand what the procedure will be for the actual ceremony on Saturday.

Magna/Summa/Cum Laude honors cords may be purchased from the EOU Bookstore at the time you purchase your cap and gown.  Honors (for the Commencement Ceremony and Program) will be determined based on your cumulative GPA (including transfer credits if applicable) through winter term.  The EOU Bookstore will have a list of eligible graduates by April 11th.  You can also email graduation@eou.edu for your GPA/honor qualifications after that date.

Your family and guests do not need tickets to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Seating at Community Stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have family or guests that require special accommodations, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 541-962-3607 or email registrar@eou.edu. Please keep in mind that the ceremony is outdoors, so your family should bring an umbrella for rain or sun. It’s also a good idea to layer clothing or bring a blanket in case of inclement weather.

As we receive information on upcoming events, we will update the website. There will be a link from our homepage at www.eou.edu to the commencement website or you can go directly to the commencement homepage at www.eou.edu/commencement.
