Commencement week will be filled with a wide array of campus activities, including:
Weather always plays a role in EOU's outdoor graduation. It is always a good idea to prepare accordingly for an outdoor event, especially in eastern Oregon. Bring sunscreen, some water and a hat or umbrella to provide shade, and check the forecast for La Grande. Since the weather can change at a moment's notice, it may be a good idea to also bring along a jacket or raincoat.

Your family and guests do not need tickets to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Seating at Community Stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have family or guests that require special accommodations, please contact Kris Olson at 541-962-3511 or kolson@eou.edu.

Commencement should not be confused with “graduation.” Graduation refers to the actual fulfillment of degree requirements resulting in the conferral of a degree and a diploma. Commencement is a ceremony. It is a time for you, your family, friends, and the EOU community to celebrate your accomplishments.
