Commencement should not be confused with "graduation." Graduation refers to the actual fulfillment of degree requirements resulting in the conferral of a degree and a diploma. Commencement is a ceremony. It is a time for you to celebrate your accomplishments along with your family, your friends, and the EOU community.
If you are a graduating senior, have an approved graduation application on file with the Registrar's Office, and plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremony on June 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., please go to the following link participation card and complete the participation card as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Check-in for Commencement begins at 8:00am, June 11, 2011 in Quinn Coliseum.
If you do not have access to our website, you may call 541-962-3810 to have your name added to the participation list. You may participate in Commencement if you are graduating Fall 2010, Winter 2011, Spring 2011, or Summer 2011. If you are not eligible to participate in the ceremony, your name will not appear on the participation list.
Rehearsal for the Commencement Ceremony is scheduled on Friday, June 10 at 8:30 am. Please meet in the large gym in Quinn Coliseum. Participation is not mandatory, but it is very helpful to understand what the procedure will be for the actual ceremony on Saturday.
Magna/Summa/Cum Laude honors medallions will not be handed out at the honors ceremony. You will receive your medallion when you check in the morning of the commencement ceremony.
Your family and guests do not need tickets to attend the Commencement Ceremony. Seating at Community Stadium is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please keep in mind that the ceremony is outdoors, so your family should bring an umbrella for rain or sun. It's also a good idea to layer clothing or bring a blanket in case of inclement weather.
As we receive information on upcoming events, we will update the website. There will be a link from our homepage at www.eou.edu to the commencement website or you can go directly to the commencement homepage at www.eou.edu/commencement.
