Eastern Oregon University offers teachers who possess a regular education teaching license the opportunity to pursue their Special Education Endorsement. Course work in the endorsement program may be applied to a Master’s of Science degree in Education, or the endorsement can be pursued on its own. The Special Educator Endorsement is required to teach learners with disabilities in the state of Oregon.
The Special Educator Endorsement is offered through a cohort model over a two year cycle and the class meeting schedule is designed to meet the needs of working professionals. Courses in the program are offered during summers, late afternoons, and some weekends.
This program is offered onsite at EOU in La Grande and utilizes distance learning technology. Please note that while the MS program can be completed online, courses in this concentration are located on campus.
Eastern Oregon University’s teacher preparation programs are accredited through Oregon’s Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC).
