This is Risa Nabielski’s first year teaching at Eastern Oregon University.  She is an Associate Professor of Education at the Gresham Site, and teaches Elementary Education and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes.  Prior to this faculty position, she was teaching ELL in a junior high classroom, outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Risa has a passion for integrating rigorous language instruction into any content area, and has advised colleagues in all content areas including English, Science, Mathematics, and Physical Education.  She also recently completed her STEM Certificate through St. Kate’s University in St. Paul, Minnesota, which helped her look at the classroom with a new science, technology, engineering and math perspective.
