Mary Fields is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education and coordinates the CUESTE program located in Coos Bay (the most distant distance site!).  She has been a part of the EOU College of Education faculty for 14 years and teaches both undergraduate education courses and MS Education courses.  She has a background in student academic support at several universities over the years, focused on peer tutoring/peer assistance models.  Mary started her career as a research biologist and has enjoyed turning her research skills to education topics.  She has taught both science and education courses at the university & college level.  She is currently working on her doctorate through University of Oregon.

Mary’s professional interests include science inquiry and students at all levels, content area literacy, development of early literacy skills and habits, assessment, and new teacher mentoring.
