Electron pair geometry

The electron pair geometry is determined by the number of groups of electrons around an atom in accordance with the VSEPR Theory (VSEPR = valence shell electron pair repulsion). The groups of electrons are arranged around the central atom so that they are at the maximum possible distance from each other. The electron pair geometry may be described geometrically as follows:
