Covalent Bond

Molecules are created when nonmetal atoms form covalent bonds by sharing electrons. A covalent bond is formed when at least one pair of electrons is shared between the nuclei of two adjacent atoms. This sharing of electrons between two atoms permits each atom in the bond to complete its outer shell and gain the electron configuration of a Noble Gas. This is in accordance to the octet rule.
