(The Associate of Science Degree is also available via the Division of Distance Education)

The university offers a two-year associate degree of science in Office Administration. The program is intended to provide the skills and background necessary for employment in the complex and computerized world of the modern business office. As a regional program, the OA degree curriculum will be offered via distance education formats.

Using a variety of media which include printed materials, video and/or audio tapes, computer conferencing, workbooks, and selected faculty readings, courses will be individually paced and designed to allow the student to complete the program on or off campus. Some courses will require that the student possess or have access to appropriate computing equipment and software. All courses will be offered through the Division of Distance Education.

The student will complete a core curriculum of courses basic to office administration and will then be able to focus in a number of specialty areas including medical office procedures, legal procedures, or computerized office technology. The goal of the program is to provide a professional education while allowing students the freedom to live at home while taking part in the program.

High school students will be able to participate in the program through approved cooperative agreements between their schools and the college. Students will receive credits for equivalent skills and content knowledge gained in their advanced high school study. Students may elect to continue their education toward a bachelor degree in Business/Economics, Liberal Studies or toward teaching licensure in Business Education.
