Mentor Seeker Agreement:

In order to proceed, you must read and agree to the terms below. 

This program is sponsored by Eastern's Career Services Office and the Alumni Association.  It is available to current students and recent graduates of the institution. 

Mentors volunteer their time to respond to inquiries.  When engaged with this program, it is imperative that users conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner.

Students and recent alumni users must follow these standards:

  • Use the program only for the purpose of gaining information about a
    career field, business, industry or occupation.
  • Refrain from asking for employment or about any anticipated job
    openings.
  • Respect the privacy and the time constraints of the mentor and his/her  employer.
  • For phone interviews:  Prepare questions in advance, seek to set up a  convenient time for the mentor, assume all costs (long distance charges).
  • For E-mail interactions:  Prepare questions in advance.  Take the time to  send correspondence that is free of spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Send a thank you note to all mentors who provide you assistance.
  • Represent yourself and Eastern Oregon University in a positive and professional manner.
  • Contact the Career Services Office immediately if any part of the
    contact with a mentor is questionable or disconcerting.
