INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CONCENTRATION CAREER PATHS

International Trade Specialist

Those who enter this field are expected to oversee financial activities and payments for imports and exports of their company. They provide advice about tariffs, foreign regulations, and foreign markets. International trade specialists are also responsible for paperwork and communication between the company and its international partners, subsidiaries, and banks.

Foreign Exchange

A foreign exchange manager advises others in hedging exposures and other financial goals. They are responsible for buying, selling, and holding financial assets for their company or client in order to increase the value of their investments. The need to stay current in financial developments both in the US and internationally is very important.

International Marketing

Someone in this career needs to be able to analyze other cultures in order to determine the best marketing technique for that country. International marketers will sometimes be responsible for the actual advertising campaign, but will sometimes just work with the marketers in the foreign branch of the company. Fluency in a foreign language is often necessary.
