Tutorial Topics

Individualized instructional technology tutorials are available to EOU faculty upon request. Please Call David Komito at 541-962-3381 or email david.komito@eou.edu to arrange a tutorial at your office, or if you are off campus, an online tutorial can be arranged using our application sharing software.

 

General approaches to instructional design:

Specific instructional technology techniques and tools:

• Blackboard course management system:
  • Beginning skill tutorials
    • Basics of how to set up a Bb course site and use fundamental tools such as the discussion board, gradebook, announcements, etc.
  • Tutorials on Bb maintenance skills, such as archiving and copying courses
  • Intermediate/Advanced tutorials
    • Developing text based and graphic instructional content for Blackboard.
    • Developing micro-web sites for Blackboard content
    • Deploying streaming media (audio or video) in Blackboard
    • Developing surveys and exams in Blackboard
    • Using the assignment manager and gradebook
    • Creating student work groups in Blackboard and other techniques to foster interactivity

• Elluminate webcasting and web conferencing system:
  • Webcasting courses using video or audio only
  • Virtual discussion using video or audio only
  • Integrating PowerPoint into the Elluminate whiteboard, with or without voiceover
  • Using a digital writing pad with Elluminate for tutoring or instruction which requires the use of formulas or foreign text
