Audio and Video Editing Tools
Player Software
VLC Player is a free media player that works across platforms (Windows, Linux, and Mac), and can play Flash video files (FLV) in addition to many of the other popular file formats (Mpeg, AVI, DivX, etc).
Editing Audio
Audacity is free to use and should suit your needs. In order to use Audacity to encode MP3 files, you also must install this free encoder.
Editing Video
Your computer may have come with a video editing program preloaded, such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. If you need a video editing program, two programs with a reasonable cost are Nero 8 Ultra Edition and AVS Super Bundle. For Macintosh computers, Screenflow is a handy and relatively inexpensive program (compared to similar products).
