Harriers Use Home-Course Advantage

 

Cross Country had another great weekend with the men finishing first in overall team standings and the women finishing in second in the EOU Open.

 

Coming off their off-week, Eastern showed no sign of a set-back and showed very well on the men's and women's sides.

 

In the women's 3K, Marcella Bosch paced EOU finishing second overall, 27 seconds shy of first. Sara Bates finished in fourth, 25 seconds behind Bosch. Kristen Pletan finished in sixth for the Mountaineers.

 

Asley Puga of Northwest Nazarene finished in first with a time of 10:40:42. Northwest Nazarene finished first overall on the women's side.

 

In the men's 5K, Eastern dominated winning by a margin of 22 points over Northwest Nazarene. The Mounties had seven of the top ten finishers.

 

Doug Benson finished in second for EOU, four seconds ahead of teammate Zach Heath. Adam Goulet, Troy Blackburn, Morgan Saltenberger, Josh Ego, and Justin Dean rounded out the rest of the top ten finishes for Eastern.

 

Kevin Lambert of Northwest Nazarene finished first overall on the men's side with a time of 15:43:35, eight seconds ahead of second place.
