Eastern Women’s Basketball Set to Host the Holiday Classic

The 3rd Annual Holiday Classic is back and the Mountaineers are hosting an excellent field.  Eastern, off to another strong start (5-2) will be playing their 3rd and 4th games at home of this young season.  Senior wing Christie Weaver is leading the Mountaineers in scoring through 7 games averaging 15 points and adding 5 rebounds per contest.  Another bright spot for EOU has been the play of junior transfer Tiffanie Ulmer.  The 5’9” forward from Ellensburg Washington has averaged 11.6 points and just under 9 rebounds a night.

 

In the first game on Friday Cascade Conference foe Albertson College (4-4) will square off against The University of Montana-Western who bring with them a record of 12-0 and boast a national ranking of 4th.  The Bulldogs have a balanced attack let by 6’1 senior post Becky O’Neil (15.2ppg).  The Yotes of Albertson College who feature a frantic style of play and are led by the scoring of Whitney Clark (14.8ppg).

 

In the night cap the Mounties will face Whitworth College an NCAA Division III team who is off to a 5-0 start.  The Pirates are led in scoring by their fabulous freshman Natalie Orrell, a 5’9 guard from Wenatchee Washington.
