Boise State Team Invitational: Day One

For the 4th week in a row, the EOU track team sent someone over to Nampa to compete at a Boise State event. This weekend Eastern is sending several different small groups all over the place. Round one of three this weekend was back in Nampa with three athletes results as follows:

Pole Vault- Cayla Weissert- following a fine performance last week at the Bronco Invite, in which Weissert met the NAIA Provisional qualifying standard. She was able to step it up again, this time surpassing the NAIA Auto standard with a jump of 11' 1 1/2". This mark currently ranks her 8th in the NAIA.

High Jump- Justus Gray. The freshman from North Powder chances were cut short when part of his shoe tore apart in warm ups. None the less, he jump solidly clearing 6'2 3/4" and nearly clearing 6'5".

20 Weight- Trisha Harshberger- after Harshberger just missed the NAIA Provisional mark last week, she was looking to improve and while she threw well, she was unable to improve on last weeks throw of 47'7 3/4" when she tossed the weight 46'3 1/2"...her second best throw ever.

Next up: Coach Dee Harrison will take Mitch Wheelhouse over to Nampa in the 35 Weight to try and improve on his Provisional mark on Saturday. Then nine athletes will compete at the University of Washington on Sunday, the 17th with Coach Welch and Kegg.
