Position Description: Eastern Oregon University (EOU) invites applications for the position of Director of Athletics. Located in the northeast corner of Oregon, EOU is a public liberal arts university with an approximate undergraduate enrollment of 3,000. The Director of Athletics reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and is responsible for the management of NAIA intercollegiate athletics comprised of thirteen varsity sports and recreation sports programs. The Director will prepare and supervise budgets; manage all facilities and programs related to athletics, intramurals and student recreation; mentor and supervise, coaches, staff, and trainers; implement programs that ensure the academic success of student athletes, ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations; expand the programs of community linkage, marketing and fundraising; and ensure compliance with student conduct codes.

 

The Director of Athletics is a 12-month, fixed-term, Administrative Faculty position. Salary in the mid-$60's, commensurate with education and experience with excellent medical, retirement and professional development benefits.

 

Required Qualifications: A masters degree from an accredited institution in athletic administration, business, education or a closely related field; excellent communication and organizational skills; demonstrated leadership experience in intercollegiate athletics of a progressively responsible nature; a commitment to gender equity and diversity; an appreciation for student learning in and outside the classroom; and demonstrated fund raising ability.
