Mounties Bounce Back Against Northwest

9.15.07

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Less than 24 hours after losing to Evergreen, the Eastern Oregon University Soccer team rebounded to beat Northwest University 3-0.

Unlike Friday against the Geoducks, Eastern was able to sustain their effort for the entire match versus the Eagles.

Like their match with Evergreen EOU went into halftime tied, this time it was scoreless at the break.  Only today the Mounties did not run out of gas., they exploded for three goals while holding Northwest scoreless.

Freshman Kami Hernandez scored her first goal of the season in the 50th minute.  Fellow freshman Lauren Souza knocked in her first two goals of the season as well.  The Hawaii native scored in the 59th minute and an exclamation with just 14 seconds remaining.

Lori Wilson assisted on the first two goals and Tennly Paul-Bowden dished out the assist to Souza.

EOU will travel to Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon next weekend for two more conference match ups.
